Hey ,
In a dynamic world, where we founders are trying to be DISRUPTERS, what simply matters the most is:
Right People, Right Place, & Right Time
If we get all three right or even two things right, the journey ahead is bound to get smoother.
This is what Sahir told me while I met him over a zoom call last week.
Today, it’s not about sharing about how someone went from rags to riches, but about sharing a normal story with an extraordinary thing: Having Right People in life.
Here’s his story in his own words:
I grew up in a loving Indian family along with my parents and an elder sister.
From the day I came to my senses, I have seen my parents work hard every single day of their lives to run their clothing business successfully and to provide the best of everything for their kids. Though it was expensive for a middle-class family like us, our parents made sure that we both studied in the best city school.
My sister, Sara, has been super intelligent since childhood. From academics to extra-curricular she aced it all. Despite losing her sight/vision at the age of 8 due to disease, she never approached life differently.
Watching her achieve everything she wanted, it inspired me every day to do something big in life. She is a chess champion, certified guitarist, great dancer, debater, orator, and now a lawyer too while I have been a tech nerd since the beginning.
I always wanted to be of some help to her, but it was always the other way around. From the time I started walking, I was never without a wheelchair. I had paralysis and since childhood, she is the one who tucks me in my bed.
Having no friends did not bother me much, because technology was my best friend. I have spent days and nights learning about software, coding, and web development and I enjoyed it.
For a long time, I thought that my special ability would prevent me from pursuing my dream of working in tech. However, the pandemic made the best education and job opportunities accessible to individuals like me through online platforms as the dependence on hybrid and remote models increased worldwide.
Post covid, the business and the startup world also pivoted to online space. I grabbed the opportunity and landed an internship followed by a job at a renowned startup in Silicon Valley.
I worked with them for 2.5 years, then decided to move ahead in search of better aspects and more experience. While I was searching for a job, I took up freelancing projects, particularly for web and app development.
The work was too much for a single person, hence my father advised me to set up my own agency where I could hire people, especially like me, to work on different projects worldwide.
And, that’s how my journey of entrepreneurship started. But I am not alone in this. My father helps me with the business aspect of things, while I take care of what I am best at i.e. making software and developing code and non-code websites.
Today, I have a remote team of 15 developers, working together on projects across the globe. It’s been a year and a half since I started with the business, and there’s no looking back.
If you have your RIGHT THINGS in place, the rest follows. Focus on them and start with finding your set of right people.
