Your performance depends upon your sleep.

But 7-8 hours of sleep is a lie.

Hey ,

Your performance is not at par with your expectations?

If yes, not getting proper SLEEP can be one of the primary reasons.

But we founders are kings of night and burning the midnight oil is the norm.

But who said we need 7-8 hours to sleep if we can maximize our ROI within just 4-5 hours?

Today at glance:

1. Your performance really depends on your SLEEP.
2. Some practical tips from a founder to a founder to have a goodnight 4-5 hours of sleep.
3. A Cheat Code practice for not only balanced sleep but for enhancing your performance, focus, energy, mood, and overall well-being.

Amidst the chaos of startup life, it's easy for us to overlook one of the most essential ingredients for success: Sleep.

Yet, all too often, we sacrifice sleep in the name of productivity, burning the candle at both ends and paying the price in diminished performance, energy, and focus.

Again 4-5 hours is all we really need.

And honestly, it’s easy to start having a good night sleep really soon.

So, from a founder to a founder here are the tips that helped me and other 100+ founders from the community:

  1. Establish a Consistent Sleep Schedule: Aim to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, even on weekends. This helps regulate your body's internal clock and promotes better sleep quality.

  2. Create a Relaxing Bedtime Routine: Wind down before bed with calming activities such as reading, gentle stretching, or taking a warm bath. Avoid screens and stimulating activities that can interfere with sleep.

  3. Optimize Your Sleep Environment: Make your bedroom a sleep-friendly sanctuary by keeping it cool, dark, and quiet. Invest in a comfortable mattress and pillows that support your sleep posture.

  4. Limit Caffeine and Alcohol: Avoid caffeine and alcohol in the hours leading up to bedtime, as they can disrupt sleep patterns and lead to restless nights.

  5. Practice Stress Reduction Techniques: Incorporate stress reduction techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, or journaling into your daily routine to calm your mind and prepare for sleep.

  6. Sit less or sit straight: Sitting posture has lot of impact on overall body functionality and on sleep as well.

Seems too easy? Told you in the beginning itself, and for founders like you it becomes much easier.

By now you know, we can’t stop at just bare minimum as we are the achievers who want maximum RETURNS, so here’s a banger practice:

Moon piercing breath or Chandra Bhedana

This ancient yogic practice involves breathing through the left nostril, which is associated with the lunar, calming energy of the body.

Next question, how to do it?

So, practice Chandra Bhedana breath before bed as part of your bedtime routine to promote relaxation and prepare your body and mind for sleep.

You can also use this technique during times of stress or agitation to calm your nervous system and restore balance.

We founders work best while we are well rested and sleep plays key factor into it just like our team for our company’s success.
