The Most Important phase of Startup

Fundraising and Product Launch, isn't it?

Hey ,

When did you last felt immense happiness and stress at the same time in your entrepreneurial journey?

I faced it twice: a) Fund Raising b) Product launch

I believe it would be same for 90% of founders.

We often hear 99 NO before hearing that 1 game changing YES.

Every founder is nothing short of a warrior but sometimes the weight of rejections can chip away the morale.

It can make one question about their vision and abilities.

And that emotional toll can be heavy, impacting not just our mental health but also physical well-being, decision-making skills, and overall energy levels.

So, how to sail through this tough times?

I asked the same questions to more than 20 well-funded startup founders and here’s what they shared.

  1. Embrace Rejections as Stepping Stones

Every "no" brings you one step closer to a "yes." Each rejection is an opportunity to refine your pitch and improve your strategy. Keep learning and iterating.

  2. Lean on Your Network

Connect with other founders who have been through the same process. Their insights and encouragement can be invaluable. Don’t hesitate to seek advice and support.

  3. Set Small Milestones

Break down the fundraising process into smaller, manageable goals and milestones. Celebrate small wins along the way to maintain motivation and a positive outlook. Maintain a Healthy Routine:

  4. Microbreaks for Mental Recharge

Take 5-10 minutes every hour to step away from your work, stretch, or take a short walk. These brief breaks can significantly reduce stress, prevent burnout, and improve overall productivity.

  5. Visualize your success (tip from a unicorn founder)

Before important meetings or presentations, spend a few minutes visualizing success. Picture yourself confidently pitching to investors, answering their questions effectively, and receiving positive feedback.

Solid tips, aren’t they?

However, ancient yogic culture holds a perfect technique that can not only make the stressful journey of fund raising a bit smooth but can also increase your performance and energy levels.

The Throat Lock or Jalandhar Bandh

This lesser-known practice is known for its ability to balance emotions, increase focus, and boost energy levels.

In simple words, the practice involves gently pressing the chin against the chest, creating a lock that regulates energy flow within the body.

It may sound simple but it’s a powerful technique can help calm the mind, reduce stress, and enhance concentration.

Now a million-dollar question: How to perform it?

Or follow this quick guide right away:

  • Sit Comfortably: Find a quiet spot and sit in a comfortable position with your spine straight.

  • Inhale Deeply: Take a deep breath in, filling your lungs with air.

  • Chin to Chest: Gently bring your chin down to your chest, pressing lightly.

  • Hold and Focus: Hold this position for a few breaths, focusing on the flow of energy and the calmness it brings.

  • Release Slowly: Lift your head back to the starting position and exhale slowly.

Remember, fundraising is just a phase.

Every rejection is not a reflection of your worth or potential. Keep pushing forward, stay resilient, and maintain your focus.

That one "yes" will eventually come, and it will make all the hard work and perseverance worth it.
