Entrepreneurship Just Happened!

You don't always choose.

Hey ,

Not everyone TRACES the path to entrepreneurship, sometimes the entrepreneurship EMBRACES you!

Wait, does that mean everything falls into place on its own?

No, absolutely not!

It’s a fact: Challenges are inevitable, whether it’s life or business.

What we, as founders or humans, should do or can do, is keep our spirits high!

Recently, I got the chance to grab a bite with Priya, who is an entrepreneur but ironically never desired to be one!!

Here’s how Priya beautifully described her journey in her own words:

Born in a village on the outskirts of the city, I grew up with a profound appreciation for the simple joys of life.

Being the youngest child of the family, I was forever surrounded by the love of my doting parents and siblings. My childhood was nothing less than perfect.

But as fate would have it, I got married early on in life and moved to the bustling city with my husband. Excited to explore, I had plans, but unfortunately, my husband succumbed to death due to alcohol addiction.

Life took a back seat, I moved back with my parents along with my twin children. Renting out our city house was the only option to cover up for the basic living expenses.

Later, to provide for my kids’ higher education, I took on various jobs but found little solace in the work I did.

As time passed by, my children embarked on their own career paths. I was happy for them, but I was left behind with a void in my heart, with both parents and children gone.

One fateful day, while in a cottage, amidst a power cut, I ended up gathering the melted candles and reheating them to make a new one for hours together. Inspired by my newfound passion, I delved into the art of creating handmade soaps, organic serums, oils, and other natural beauty care products.

I was so proud of myself that I shared them with friends and my children as gifts. There was an overwhelming demand for more.

To fulfill the orders, I took a garage on rent, turned it into a workshop, and created the products with the help of two ladies.

The orders never stopped and seeing the impact the work had on me and my community’s life, I never put a halt to it. I put in 90% of my savings, for innovation of more types of natural man-made skincare products.

From workshops to factories to personalized showrooms now, the business has grown. The best thing is, that it had a powerful impact on my community, created employment opportunities, and my village is now a big town, known for its craftsmanship.

Seeing the business boom, big cosmetic and healthcare companies offered to make partners. Today, the brand growth is swift. We boast 10 production units in various tier 3 cities, employing thousands of villagers, and 10 outlets across multiple cities.

I never dreamt of building a business, but being able to build a successful and impactful one today feels eventful.

Entrepreneurship is not what I chose, it happened to me, and I am glad it did.

Here’s what I would say and learned:

Not everyone is designed for the entrepreneurial world, so if you are the chosen one, build and create impact, any day and every day!

Every story is different, right?
